About DISC Behavioural Profiling

Benefits Of The DISC Approach - In Any Environment

  1. Greater personal understanding. Helps to gain self awareness of the way we feel and behave.
  2. Greater understanding of those around you. This can really take the anger out of personality clashes and help prevent in the first place.
  3. Increased level of effective communication. By understanding the model we learn a new skill to be able to communicate according to our style and that of others.
  4. Increased team productivity. A team that understands the individual behaviour styles of each member is able to communicate more effectively and reduce personal clashes. (Also applicable to families).
  5. Increased emotional intelligence. All of the above adds to a higher level of emotional intelligence and maturity  that will change lives and company cultures for the better.

Accreditation

Through my coaching qualification and further study I have gained accreditation to carry out DISC profiling.

Initially I was sceptical but have learnt how powerful yet relatively simple the DISC model is.

I have used my own profile to help me understand others just as much as myself reducing stress in many situations both socially and in the work place.

In a short time I can provide you learning that will transform the way you understand social situations and behaviours. Valuable awareness that everyone can benefit from.

The DISC Model

I will explain all in detail in our time together, but here is a simple overview:

  1. Lets first be clear. DISC is one aspect of our personality. It does not define who we are. No profiling tool should claim that it does.
  2. DISC is split in the four quadrants / personality aspects as you can see. We are a blend of all four but will generally have traits that favour one or two quadrants, sometimes three.
  3. You can see from the image how the quadrants differ and how we tend to be people or task focused and outgoing or reserved.
  4. The results of your profile can change depending on the environment you are in or stage of life.

What Happens Next?

  1. Once you are happy to proceed, you will receive a link to an online questionnaire. This will take roughly 10 minutes. That's all you have to do!
  2. I then receive your extensive DISC profile and report.
  3. In an individual session I will explain the DISC model in further detail to you, and explain your profile along with the report findings. From my training all I need is three graphs (like imaged to the left) to explain all.
  4. The report is yours to keep. It explains a huge amount more detail including how to communicate with other styles, your strengths, likes and dislikes.
  5. You will find that as you learn you will begin to recognise the styles in people you know. This is always fascinating and can really help make sense of behaviour that seems odd to you.

Why Is DISC My First Choice?

I am sure you are like me and if in a corporate career have come across many personality tests that are available. Depending on your experience of these and your mindset towards such things you may have a positive or negative view.

For me I was sceptical but DISC did something that I had not seen before...

  1. It acknowledges we are a blend of all aspects. We are not put into a single category but rather have aspects of all personality types which will vary depending on the day and the environment we are in.
  2. Once we are aware of our DISC profile we have the ability to change intensity on each aspect. I love this. Essentially this says we have the choice of how we behave. The extent of this choice depends on our level of emotional maturity/intelligence (EQ). Coaching massively helps to increase our EQ which in turn increases our ability to behave as we desire which can be a big issue for many people.
