Because I understand both worlds - the technical and the human.
Before becoming a coach, I spent years working in engineering and project management across several highly technical industries.
My career began in aircraft avionics, where I worked in flight test instrumentation for a major defence company.
From there, I moved into the security industry, designing and building advanced radiation detection systems. I started as an electrical engineer, helping to design, build, and install systems across the globe, before progressing to Operations Manager.
Seeking a new challenge, I transitioned into project management within the construction industry, working on large-scale capital investment projects on both the client and contractor sides.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked alongside and led engineers, physicists, senior leaders, and technical clients. I know first hand what it’s like to manage shifting deadlines, complex systems, and demanding expectations - and the personal toll that can come with striving for precision and performance.
That experience profoundly shaped how I coach today.

In every organisation I’ve worked with - from defence to construction - one factor consistently stood out to me as being the most crucial in every area... communication.
Early in my career as an engineer and later as a project manager, I saw first hand how communication could make or break teams, projects, and company culture.
Clear, appropriate and honest dialogue builds trust, alignment, and accountability. Poor communication, on the other hand, creates confusion, tension, and inefficiency - often costing time, money, and morale.
In technical environments, where precision and deadlines are everything, communication is often assumed rather than developed.
Great technical minds can be promoted into positions of management which without the proper training and development can spell disaster. Managing people and specifically effective communication is a skill in of itself.
